Carcasses

On our trip (me and my fiancee, not the proverbial I want to sound important on the internet 'we') through Australia we came across a couple of old, rusty cars. Still sleepy from the long trip on the bus I decided to get the camera out and take a few photos.
Black and white, and colour was what I used for these.

Just a quickie today!

What a great day! (or Me in BnW)

Today is turning out to be the best of days with regard to photography! I already know that I will be shooting some of our local elderly at a hospital/living facility, but what I didn't know when I got up this morning was: That it would be great weather out, I would meet a painter at central station who agreed to having his picture taken, the staircase in our building has some great light when you're there at the right time, and that just fooling around with my old D70 and 50mm f1.8 could lead to the shot you see the the left. More of these to come coming week, as well as the shots I took of the painter, but for now I will go and test&pack my gear for the shoot later on.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the great weather out, and I hope to see you all on monday!

Cheers!

Monkey Island

I have noticed that I like photographing a couple of things best and two of those are people and.... Monkeys. I wonder what the link ;) I have posted quite a lot about portraits and today I will show you the monkeys :D

The photo to the left I took on Peninsular Malaysia and I was just lucky to find such wonderful animals in the middle of the street in  a small village. It was even more amazing to see how the entire pack worked to protect the pack and its babes.

Oldies on the wall

Since I am no longer sticking to the 365 format I can finally post about older photos as well.
I have a set of photos I would like you to see and preferably comment on.
All in black and white which is something I love, but aren't really adept in.

Day 18 - A Man

Today some headshots of one of the most characteristic man I know. This is a man who has seen, heard and done so much and I used to spent great times just listening to him or telling him about me.

I coincidentally ran into him yesterday evening, and since I was packing my newly revised 1 light portrait setup with me, I couldn't let this one pass and I did a 5 minute shoot with him.

Since I haven't discussed with him whether or not who would mind being on this site, I will merely post the photos (without name) and will not divulge any more.

Just the photos today!

Slightly more after the jump....

Day 17 - On the Road Again

I just love shooting pictures on buses, which btw is a totally confusing plural of the word bus, but more on that another time.

Like I said, I love to shoot people at bus stops or buses. They all have a strange silent contemplating look on their faces. Sadly, people don't take kindly to shoving a telephoto lens in their faces while on the bus, or don't really like the sound of a clicking shutter. Hipstamatic it is then.
