I spend quite some time on the bus, but you have probably figured that out by now :)
As I bought a new lens for the Hipstamatic app (you can buy several different lenses for the app and each has its own look to it) I simply had to try it out.
This one is called Roboto Glitter and it has a glittery (duh) but also a very centralised look to it.
More after the jump....
Rule of thirds
As you might remember I recently gave a very brief explaination of the rule of thirds, but this lens sorta screws that all up.Because of the glittery effect that always centers on the center you can't really draw attention away to another point in the photo i.e. on any of the thirds. You can see it in this photo as well. Her face is in the upper right third of the photo but somehow you feel yourself drawn to her arm next to the door. This is because that is in the center of the photo and the effect brings that along.
I will be playing some more with this lens in the coming weeks and probably make some really centered photos with it and see how those turn out :)
It's kinda weird how your attention indeed keeps switching from the main point of the picture to something less significant >.<
