Day 40 - Vermeer's Birthday

Okay Okay! Vermeer's Birthday is actually on the 41st day of the blog, but today the skies were so fitting that I simply had to write about it.

Day 27 - A brief sun

On this day the sun was out for almost a few minutes and I took the time to bask in its warmth. Of course I also took a few shots that day, but that was mostly of the great clouds that were out as well.

Take a look after the jump......

Day 26 - Cardbox Car

No really lengthy story today, just some pics I ran across when I was walking around Mill while on camp with the Youth Choir I play the piano at.

I saw the car and loved the sight of it :)
Whipped out my Hipstamatic and presto :)

Day 25 - New Stand

A couple of weeks ago (on Day 13 to be exact) I killed one of my stands so it was time to get a new stand. I had been wanting to get this new stand for quite some time, but I didn't for I had perfectly good stands. Let's call it that the gods were willing to get me my new stand by killing the old one :)

It had rather interesting shapes so (on recommodation of my gf) I decided to take some photos of it.

Day 24 - On the bus again

I spend quite some time on the bus, but you have probably figured that out by now :)
As I bought a new lens for the Hipstamatic app (you can buy several different lenses for the app and each has its own look to it) I simply had to try it out.

This one is called Roboto Glitter and it has a glittery (duh) but also a very centralised look to it.

Back in 4

Good Gracious Me,

I'm off for the weekend and will be back on monday.
I know that I haven't posted the photo's from yesterday yet, nor those of today, but I will update the blog asap when I get back.

Of course I didn't want you to go without any photos at all, so below are a couple of pics from my holiday in Malaysia.
Enjoy :)

Btw, taking the camera with me (of course) and hopefully run into something cool over the weekend :)
So for four days no posting, but I hope to see you all again here when I get back.

Thank you all for reading my blog and commenting on my photos.

Day 23 - Suit Up!

And there we were, Wednesday the 23th of the 10th month, International Suit Up day :D If you don't know what it is to suit up, then shame on you. Naaaah, just a day that all men should go in suit the entire day, and to the great delight of several ladies, some of us did so today :)
I of course wore a suit today for I am a devout worshipper of Neill Patrick Harris.
Long story short, today was Legen - wait for it - dary!

More after the ever awesome jump!

Day 22 - Pain

A couple of years ago I did a photoshop collage about pain and love right after I had read a couple of books. I had recently read Romeo and Julliet, Macbeth, Extremely Loud and Incredibly close and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. All books (well mcBeth a bit less perhaps) are stories filled with love and the pain that comes from love. Whether it is a case of not being meant to be together, being betrayed by your best friend, Losing a loved one, or being denied the return of the love you have given or are giving.
Although not really sure why, I had to think of that collage and decided I wanted to do it again but now as a photo.

Day 21 - Smoke 'em if you got them

Smoke 'em if you got them. You used to hear this a lot in film, back in the days when it was still cool or at least normal to smoke.
Don't get me wrong I am all for the banning of smoking from public places, but it always had a cool ring to it.
And to be fair, I have said it probably once or twice to often *ashamed look*

Well I reckon that the same was said to this man who was working on one of the town centre's stores.

Day 20 - Feeling ill

On day 20 I was feeling quite ill, and to my opinion it has gone on more than long enough. Of course, I should just stay home and get better by resting, but that is not exactly my style. So today as well I took a shot and I made a macro studio setting of how my life looks like in the last couple of days, blurry.

More after the jump as usual :)

Day 19 - One of those days

Day 19 was one of those days. I'm still a bit ill, but had to go to work anyhow, and in the evening I had to play the piano. So not a really productive day for photography.

As it turned out I didn't do much with it, but I am still rather proud that I made a photo in the end, and although it's not really a great picture, it still has a lot to do with photographic theory.

The rule of thirds is what we will take a look at right after the jump.

Day 18 - A Man

Today some headshots of one of the most characteristic man I know. This is a man who has seen, heard and done so much and I used to spent great times just listening to him or telling him about me.

I coincidentally ran into him yesterday evening, and since I was packing my newly revised 1 light portrait setup with me, I couldn't let this one pass and I did a 5 minute shoot with him.

Since I haven't discussed with him whether or not who would mind being on this site, I will merely post the photos (without name) and will not divulge any more.

Just the photos today!

Day 17 - On the Road Again

I just love shooting pictures on buses, which btw is a totally confusing plural of the word bus, but more on that another time.

Like I said, I love to shoot people at bus stops or buses. They all have a strange silent contemplating look on their faces. Sadly, people don't take kindly to shoving a telephoto lens in their faces while on the bus, or don't really like the sound of a clicking shutter. Hipstamatic it is then.

Day 16 - Shots of Painted Light

I actually had two ideas for the photo of today and one of those I'm keeping for tomorrow, but the other one was LightPainting.
And since most of you reacted really enthousiastic to the lightpaintings I did earlier last week, and some of you asked for more.

But, and I said it before, it isn't as easy as it looks!

Extra, Extra. Read all About it!

Hello There! As most of you know I do also have my own site on which I work on my portfolio and other projects. Recently I have uploaded my first finished series, it's called Power of Music.

Day 15 - The Tale of Two

The photo you see to your left has a pretty entertaining story to it, although the actual tale took place a couple of months ago.

The photo is where I shot my second shoot for a client :)

So jump through the looking glass and straight into the Tale of Two.

Day 14 - Highlights

Quite a few of you asked me to explain the specular highlights I am often talking about, and although I throw in some simplifying terms some times, I can imagine it can be hard to picture it.

Luckily this is a photography blog, so what better place to show you exactly what it is all about.

Day 13 - Hell Yeah

Today, as promised, I believe I have made up for the bad photos of the last few days. For on this day, Day 13 (wooohhooooo, scary) I have shot a friend of mine and it was great!

Completely unexperienced and nervous, but willing to try, she went along for the ride, and next to turning out brilliant, the shoot was a lot of fun.

Day 12 - Running out of Time

Pffffff........ I am really commited to this project, but although I am only shooting in day 13 some days it is a pain in the proverbial backside.

Some days it feels like a race against the clock, especially when you have a lot to do during the day.

Day 11 - Fighting my way Through

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

As most of you will know, that line is by the great bard himself, ladies and gentlemen, Mr William Shakespeare. (Applause, the crowd is going wild, women are throwing underwear on stage and men are fainting)

Before you jump on, please take a second to think about the photo and what you think it's about.

Day 10 - Dried Up Bodies

Rain Again today.
I love the Winter, but I could easily go without Fall!

Bloody, bloody, bloody rain!! I could easily do without.

Let it rain at times I don't want to photograph stuff outside!

Ah well, photography works pretty well inside as well
